MenaRD Dominates CEO SF6, Continuing his Winning Streak in Street Fighter 6!
When it comes to Street Fighter, there’s one name that stands out above the rest: Saul Leonardo “MenaRD” Mena II. After his triumphant victory at Capcom Cup 2023, he has wasted no time making his mark in the Street Fighter 6 era. With an inspired Blanka counterpick against Alan “Nephew” Sun’s Juri, MenaRD claimed the grand finals of CEO SF6 in a commanding fashion, securing the first major tournament win of the Street Fighter 6 regime.
It seems like MenaRD simply cannot be defeated when it comes to Street Fighter. Just like he did in the Street Fighter V era, he showcased his dominance with relentless play and intelligent character matchups. With a newfound love for Blanka, MenaRD proved that he’s ready to plow through the competition in Street Fighter 6, leaving a trail of defeated opponents in his wake.
CEO 2023 in Street Fighter 6 had a similar vibe to the earlier Capcom Cup tournament. Up-and-coming contenders made a strong showing, while Derek “iDom” Ruffin floated around, showcasing his skills. And of course, there was MenaRD, solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with as he effortlessly controlled the game with Luke. It’s clear that some things never change, even when the game itself does. As a staple in the FGC scene, CEO saw over 1,000 entrants competing for the coveted crown. Little did they know, MenaRD was coming to claim it.
The two-time Capcom Cup champion demonstrated his mastery yet again, utilizing Luke’s exceptional spacing tools and midrange buttons to frustrate his opponents. Despite encountering several Juri players, MenaRD’s superb gameplay left no room for doubt. And to everyone’s surprise, he even pulled out a Blanka counterpick in the grand finals. It’s safe to say that MenaRD had a plan in mind. Blanka’s new crossup potential proved to be the perfect answer to Nephew’s Juri, countering her air superiority and anti-air advantage. With well-timed moves and strategic plays, MenaRD clinched victory and the CEO title. This reminiscent of his use of Birdie against EndingWalker’s Ed play at Capcom Cup – always keeping his opponents on their toes.
MenaRD’s domination of CEO SF6 reaffirms his status as a true Street Fighter champion. With his unrivaled skills and the ability to adapt to any situation, he continues to make waves in the competitive scene. As the community eagerly awaits EVO 2023, all eyes will be on MenaRD to see if he can extend his winning ways. There’s no denying that he has the talent and the determination to conquer any challenge that comes his way.
